What is the process of making Shingle? 

Shingle gravel is formed of a collection of loose rock bits and can be created in two different methods.

First, shingle can form naturally in riverbeds, streams, and other geological formations. The second method, which is used to make construction-grade gravel, involves crushing a collection of huge boulders together until irregular-shaped pieces are left.
